It is a document that gives another person the authority to act on your behalf when you are unable or unwilling to make a business or personal decision for yourself.
Everyone over the age of eighteen should have a Power of Attorney.
Enduring Power of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney covers health and/or financial matters. If you are no longer able to manage your own matters the person or persons, you assign will do it for you.
Things to consider/include:
- Pick someone you trust to be appointed as your Attorney
- Whether that person is capable of carrying out the duties required
- Whether that person is willing to be your Attorney
- Limitations you wish to place on the Attorney
